Sometimes newcomers - or even residents who’ve
been around a long time - are confused by terms like “12 foot” or “boat
basin,” so we’ve provided this diagram.
You’ll notice there are 4 beaches
listed, although not all of them are available for swimming. See
Beach Events
for swimming times and locations.
Jorges Beach, also known as
“12 foot,” isn’t really a beach since it is so rocky, and it isn’t 12
feet deep, either; the average depth of the lake now is about 7 feet.
Years ago Jorges Beach was a diving beach, but now it is home to many of
the Lake’s fishing community.
Fisherman’s Path, near
Johnson Beach, is actually on the top of the dam. The part where the
water flows out of the lake and into Eastman’s. |
